Inventor turns dead cats into diesel

A German inventor says he's found a way to make cheap diesel fuel out of dead cats.

Dr Christian Koch, 55, from Kleinhartmannsdorf, said his method uses old tyres, weeds and animal cadavers.

They are heated up to 300 Celsius to filter out hydrocarbon which is then turned into diesel by a catalytic converter.

He said the resulting "high quality bio-diesel" costs just 15 pence per litre.

Koch said the cadaver of a fully grown cat can produce 2.5 litres of fuel - meaning around 20 cats are needed for a full tank.

He said: "I tank my car with my own diesel mixture and have driven it for 105,000 miles without any problems."

Annelise
Krauss of the Dresden Animal Protection Association blasted Koch's new
diesel though, saying: "This is as bad as experimenting on animals."

Yay Bio Deasle!

Yeah this has been around for years (the cats are a new angle)Mostly from corn and Farm bio mass waste. It turns out used french fry oil is perfect.

So in 10 years MacDonlads could be a major fuel processor / supplier.

Yeah, I've heard of the biodeisel and gasahol (combine ethanol with gasoline to make it cheaper), but yeah, the cats are a new spin. But your comment about Mickey-D almost made me fall out of my chair. Don't forget the fried chicken places too. And from what I've heard, when you run on old fry oil, your exhaust smells like what was fried in it.

...so...if you fried the cats in the oil first...
...then...they would... be lighter than a duck...

I'm breathless. I will willingly offer up my cat in the interest of the international oil market and scientific advances.

Has he said why cats specifically? This is David Cho, BTW. I have a dummy LJ account so that I can leave comments on LJ blogs.

No. I think based on the article (which was oh so fact filled) it sounds like he just needs decaying matter (plant or animal). I don't know why the article or inventor fixated on cats, unless someone was trying to make a point and thought that cats would do it.
